four,000 Marijuana Plants Seized from Constructing Co-Owned by Ex-Congressman

(AP) — Police in California’s Central Valley have seized practically four,000 illegal marijuana plants inside a constructing co-owned by a former congressman.

The Modesto Bee mentioned Turlock police raided the industrial constructing Wednesday, arresting 5 men and women and seizing guns, pot, and other drugs.

Former U.S. Rep. Jeff Denham belongs to the restricted liability corporation that owns the constructing, according to Denham’s lawyer, Michael Warda.

Warda told the Bee the owners have been arranging to sell the constructing to a firm that applied for a city permit to develop marijuana but he says the deal was contingent on permit approval and it is now terminated.

City Lawyer Doug White says the city was nonetheless processing the company’s application.

Denham spent eight years in the Residence prior to losing to Democrat Josh Tougher in November.
